Accessibility

We welcome visitors with disabilities and we have a wide range of facilities and arrangements in place to ensure our visitors can enjoy the show.

A pdf version of this access information page is available on request. Please email accessibility@11arches.org to request your copy.

On site facilities

We strive to ensure that the 11Arches site is accessible to all visitors.

Footpaths

Our main visitor path is DDA compliant with a natural fine stone surface. Some areas have grass or stone surfaces and wheelchair users may require the help of a Personal Assistant to access these.

The main visitor path is 450 metres from the Welcome Plaza to the Tribune.

Seating

The site has a number of park benches, providing seating for those who may need it. Also the Tribune opens one hour before the start of each performance should you wish to take your seats early. You are welcome to get in and out of the Tribune as many times as you wish before the performance starts.

Walking Aids Store

If walking presents difficulty, please do not worry! You are welcome to use your own pushchairs, wheelchairs and walking aids; pushchairs and walking aids can be left safely and free-of-charge at the side of the Tribune during the performance.

Disabled Toilets

These are located at the Welcome Plaza, immediately adjacent to the Blue Badge Car Park, and directly behind the Tribune.

Food Outlets

All our food outlets have large print menus available on request - just ask a member of staff who will be happy to assist.

Personal Assistant Tickets

Visitors with disabilities, who meet our qualifying criteria and may not be able to attend the show unaccompanied, or require a wheelchair space, are entitled to one complimentary Personal Assistant ticket at no additional cost.

The criteria for Personal Assistant tickets are as follows:

A photocopy / scan of one of the following documents makes you eligible:

  1. Front page of DLA or PIP letter (no specific rate required) - with eligibility period covering your show date
  2. Front page of Attendance Allowance letter (no specific rate required)
  3. Front page of War Disablement Pension
  4. Evidence as registered severely sight impaired (blind)
  5. Recognised Assistance Dog ID card

The booking process is as follows:

Booking a Personal Assistant ticket for wheelchair users

For our visitors who are wheelchair users there is space reserved just in front of row A at surface level, with a seat in row A just behind for their Personal Assistant.

All wheelchair users must remain in their wheelchairs for the duration of the show and cannot transfer to a regular seat -this is a requirement in case of an evacuation. As a result, all wheelchair users must be accompanied by a Personal Assistant who is entitled to an admission ticket at no additional cost. Other visitors in the same party will be seated as close as possible, subject to availability, in rows behind.

You can only book tickets in the Wheelchair block on the phone by calling our Booking Hotline on 01388 436 030 (additional charges may apply). You will not incur a phone booking administration fee if you call to book tickets that include a wheelchair user.

Once you have purchased these tickets, we kindly ask that you download the Access Requirement Form and follow the steps to confirm your eligibility for the Personal Assistant ticket within 48 hours of your booking;

Please note: failure to complete and return the form within 48 hours of your booking will result in your order being cancelled.

Please also note that Personal Assistants must be physically able to undertake all access requirements on behalf of their companion. This includes helping their companion on the visitor path, which is 450 metres from the Welcome Plaza to the Tribune, and with evacuation in case of an emergency.
